The majority of Stairlifts in Ireland are driven by batteries. The reason for providing mains power to a stairlift is to supply charge for these batteries.
The batteries are not like torch batteries – the ones that have to be replaced frequently. They are in-fact highly durable closed cell rechargeable batteries that should last anywhere from 4-6 years providing that they are looked after correctly.
Should there be a short term power outage in your area, the stair lift batteries will keep the stairlift in working order under normal circumstances for 4-5 days without a re-charge providing they are in good condition.
We can supply only or supply and fit batteries for your stairlift.
Please contact us with the model number of battery required and we can then discuss the best option for you.

Dermot at Mobility Assist Ireland recently installed a curved stairlift in my grandmother’s house in Inchicore. Absolutely professional service from start to finish, especially given the logistical difficulties during Covid-19. Dermot helped us through the whole process, and I’d highly recommend him to anybody. Efficient, friendly and professional service!David Smith – Dublin
To whom it may concern: A weekly client of mine (senior citizen) recently fell and broke her leg and I needed to get a stairlift fitted for her promptly while she was in hospital. I got the number for Mobility Assist Ireland and Iam glad that I did. Dermot did an absolutely brilliant job with very little notice.
